How to arrange Live-in Care

How to Arrange Live In Care – A Step-by-step Guide

1. Initial enquiry made to KentSCP via website ‘Contact Us’ form, or by telephone

2. Information, including costs of service provided verbally and confirmed in writing

3. Free Care assessment visit booked at mutually convenient time in the client’s house

4. Risk Assessment and Care plan are drawn up and agreed

5. Introduction of care worker to client, service commences

6. Regular Monitoring via phone and visits, including service reviews are undertaken at agreed intervals and documented in both client home file and office file

Arranging live-in care is a very straightforward process.  Once you have made contact with us and expressed your interest in our service, we will give you the information you need and confirm this is writing, including the price for the service.  We have 3 levels of service:

Level 1 – Low Needs, this is mainly for companionship and assistance with domestic duties and shopping, meal preparation and some basic personal care
Level 2 – Moderate Needs, this is for slightly more complex care, perhaps for someone with dementia who may get up several times in the night and have more personal care needs, perhaps more mobility needs
Level 3 – Complex Needs, this band is for a person who may have multiple needs, specialist care and possible challenging behaviours.

We will arrange to come out to your home, and meet you your concerned family members and other relevant people, to conduct an initial assessment of needs and to ask questions about the service you wish to receive.  From this meeting, a personalised care plan will be drawn up which will detail clearly the services required and the duties to be undertaken by our care worker.  This will enable us to ensure that we have matched a suitable care worker who is professionally trained to meet the identified needs.

Once our care worker has been introduced to you and haS started the service,  we will remain in regular contact with both of you to ensure you are happy with the service provided and the care worker is happy in her job.  Review meetings will be held at regular intervals to ensure that your needs are continuing to be met and to update the care plan in case of any changes.
